Job Description

Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Amsterdam / Remote

Department: IT / Data-Team

Reports To: Data Engineering Lead

Job Summary:

Are you a talented Data Engineer, want to join the team and play a pivotal role in establishing our new data engineering capabilities. This is a greenfield opportunity where you'll have the chance to design and construct a modern data processing architecture using the Microsoft Azure data stack. Working alongside a team of skilled data engineers, you'll be instrumental in developing scalable and efficient data pipelines that will underpin the data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and building scalable data pipelines to support ongoing data analysis, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
  • Implementing data solutions on Azure, ensuring optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Collaborating closely with business analysts and data scientists to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical execution.
  • Ensuring that data solutions meet the requirements of the business and facilitate flexible development and scaling of the data platform.
  • Utilizing engineering best practices such as DevOps and CI/CD to deploy solutions efficiently.
  • Building solutions using MS Fabric or other low code platforms like TimeXtender for self-service BI within the organization.
  • Developing advanced solutions using Databricks to analyze and process unstructured data in preparation for AI solutions.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and introducing new technologies and approaches to drive the evolution of the data platform.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in data governance and data management principles and practices.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, data modeling, and data warehousing principles, with hands-on experience in the Microsoft Azure data stack.
  • Expertise in the Microsoft data stack is essential, while experience with TimeXtender would be advantageous. Experience with Databricks is a requirement.

£70000 - £80000 per annum
